Dis-Moi Dix Mots 2025 EDITION
This year, as every year, the French Cultural Services in Miami / Villa Albertine and the Alliance Française Miami Metro launch, across the schools of Florida (either with a French bilingual Program or offering French classes taught as a foreign language) the 2025 edition of the “Dis-moi dix mots” contest.
Each year, a theme intended to convey a message about the French language and ten words illustrating it are chosen by the various French speaking partners of the OPALE network: France, Belgium, Quebec, Switzerland and the International Organization of the Francophonie (representing 84 states and governments).
Objective
The purpose of the contest is to invite the students to play and express themselves and give free rein to their creativity with ten words in
either a literary or artistic form: ten words to write, recite, sing, draw, photograph or film...!
2025 Edition : « Dis-moi dix mots pour la planète »
“Tell me 10 words for the planet"(literally) …
This edition resonates with current issues, inviting us to explore major environmental challenges such as climate, biodiversity and resource conflicts. To rethink our relationship with the world, let's act together to decarbonize, protect flora and fauna, and move towards energy and digital sobriety. These issues are a privileged field of action for language. The lexicon adapts, innovates and clarifies. It allows us to better name this complexity.
Here are the 10 words:
biome, buttiner, canopée, conséconscient, débrousser, empreinte, glaner, palmeraie, solaire, vivant
Students in Elementary School (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade) are allowed to use only 5 of the 10 given words in their
